The
All Star program's musical recording focuses on concentration,
self-discipline and creativity. The young people first learn
all about the history of music, then they learn to create
their own. Organized music recitals and concerts, put together
by the Urban Records staff, is a way to initiate community
involvement, which provides positive socialization amongst
the participants.
The Beginning
The All Star program began its conception in June 2004 when
Mark Stone, founder and CEO of Urban Records expressed a
desire to support and increase the musical awareness amongst
the young people in the inner city. Mr. Stone would like
to reshape the lives of children who are at risk of academic
underachievement, teen pregnancy, substance abuse, and other
adverse behavior. Mr. Stone's vision is an example of how
a traditional and emerging entrepreneur can successfully
initiate positive development of young people that are in
dyer need. |
